Bra submission deadline February 11,2012
The concept of “Bras for a Cause™” is to have individuals, corporations, teams, and organizations decorate a theme bra and submit it to our club with a $100 donation. Submission deadline February 11th ...so get decorating!
We will host a benefit dinner and auction. During the evening, the theme bras will be sold via a live and silent auction. The ballroom will hold 400 guests and we expect a sell out crowd!
In addition to theme bra submissions, we are seeking corporate donations of items suitable for either our live or silent auction.

In 2012 the proceeds will benefit:

- BC Cancer Foundation – Expanded Breast Cancer Care Clinic
- Ovarian Cancer Canada – Knowledge is Power public awareness and education programs
BC Cancer Foundation
Breast cancer strikes without prejudice. One in nine women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime—this is almost 3,000 women in British Columbia alone.
For many years proceeds from Bras for a CauseTM have helped fund the Locally Advanced Breast Cancer Clinic (LABC) at the BC Cancer Agency’s Fraser Valley Centre. The LABC provides compassionate, multidisciplinary care by a team that supports patients throughout their journey including medical and radiation oncologists, general surgeons, plastic surgeons and a patient navigator. The navigator, a registered nurse, is the constant point of contact for information and support. Based on the success of this program, the clinic is preparing to expand to provide access to a patient navigator for all newly diagnosed breast cancer patients regardless of the stage of their cancer, when it is discovered or how and where it has advanced.
Ovarian Cancer Canada
Ovarian cancer is the most fatal of women’s cancers. 70% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will not survive more than 5 years.
Consequently, Bras for a CauseTM will again help fund Ovarian Cancer Canada’s Knowledge is Power programs. Public awareness and education are currently the only defense against ovarian cancer. The Knowledge is Power campaign will include comprehensive public awareness media coverage and education presentations throughout the Fraser Valley. With knowledge comes power in the fight against ovarian cancer.
